We develop and publish the CANS+ code for magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and the pCANS code for particle-in-cell (PIC) plasma simulations, and use the code to conduct research into various astronomical phenomena and for simulation training. The code is portable and can be used on personal computers through to supercomputers.
The Coordinated Astronomical Numerical Software (CANS) is an integrated software package based on the CANS+ and pCANS code. The CANS package includes astronomical MHD code and explanations, initial conditions for typical simulation models, boundary conditions, a simulation results analysis tool, and images and videos of simulation results.
